Courtney Napier is a writer, speaker, podcast host, storyteller, and creative entrepreneur with a heart for empowering individuals, organizations, and communities to discover and utilize their unique stories to co-create collective liberation.
Though Courtney began writing professionally in 2019, Courtney has carried a deep love of beautiful words since she begged her mother to teach her to read at four years old. Starting with Raleigh, North Carolinas alternative weekly newspaper, she has written for national publications such as The Appeal, NewsOne, and several local outlets including The Carolinian, WALTER Magazine, and Scalawag Magazine. That December, Courtney took her skills and founded Black Oak Society, a collective of Black creatives in the greater Raleigh area. There she created an annual literary and culture journal, BOS Magazine, and acts as it's editor-in-chief.
Most recently, she has partnered with Silver Lining Ltd. as their Lead Storyteller. Her work with Silver Lining is an exciting intersection of all of her previous experiences and current passions, and she is thrilled to be a part of their work of using entrepreneurship as a tool for social justice.
Courtney's mission as a writer, publisher, speaker, and entrepreneur is to empower people to use their creative voice in service of liberation.
When not typing away on her laptop or addressing a crowd from stage, Courtney can be found laughing at funny TikTok videos with her husband, Dave, and her two children.
